A peaceful day, a beautiful dinner, and a rare quiet night
I woke up and updated my website before going for a swim. With the heat rising quickly, I spent most of the day indoors, reading or working on my computer and keeping out of the sun.
In the evening I went to Bernard and Sheila’s home for dinner. Sheila picked me up and drove me back to their place, where we enjoyed a beautiful meal. We started with spring rolls and salad, followed by Bernard’s homemade chicken in hoisin and plum sauce with rice, absolutely gorgeous. After ice cream and fruit, we sat outside talking for hours, accompanied by two separate music shows drifting through the air, one from the fair and one from La Zona bar. If we’d thought of it, we could have sent La Zona a cheeky request.
After a lovely evening, Sheila dropped me home. I went straight to bed, and for the first time in a long time, I wasn’t woken by noisy kids in the square.

A difficult stretch of days and a search for answers
The rest of the week has been condensed, as I spent most of it indoors. Apart from short trips to the shops or the doctor, I barely left the apartment. I’ve had a very bad stomach ache, and after seeing the doctor on Thursday, he told me I need to see a specialist. He prescribed tablets that have helped a little, and I’ll be contacting my health insurance company to arrange an early appointment with the gastroenterologist.
