Location: Costa Favolosa → Recife → Olinda → Salvador → Ilhéus → Rio de Janeiro
Summary: A week of crossing the equator, arriving in Brazil, guided tours of historic cities, one terrible excursion, one brilliant one, and finally disembarking in Rio de Janeiro to begin a five day stay on Copacabana Beach.
Monday, 20th November
Today, the Costa Favolosa crossed the equator. A memorable moment on the journey to Brazil and a first for many people onboard.

Tuesday, 21st November
Today was another sea day as the Costa Favolosa continued sailing towards Brazil. A quiet and relaxing day onboard before reaching our first Brazilian port tomorrow.
Wednesday, 22nd November
We arrived at our first port of call in Brazil, Recife. I went on a guided tour around Recife and the beautiful historic town of Olinda. It was an interesting introduction to Brazil’s culture and colonial history.
Thursday, 23rd November
Today, we arrived in Salvador. I went on a guided tour, but it was the worst trip I have been on. I didn’t enjoy it at all, and my legs began aching and playing up, which made the experience even worse.
Friday, 24th November
Today, we arrived in Ilhéus. I had booked a trip with Rosalea, but she cancelled because of the poor excursions she had experienced earlier in the cruise. Unfortunately for her, this turned out to be the best trip I went on. The Tijuipe Waterfalls were brilliant, and I really enjoyed the day.
Saturday, 25th November
Today was our last full day onboard the Costa Favolosa as we sailed towards Rio de Janeiro. A final relaxing sea day before disembarking tomorrow.
Sunday, 26th November
We arrived in Rio de Janeiro this morning. Some of my new friends left to fly home, while Gail and I continued on to Copacabana Beach for a five day stay. A new chapter of the holiday begins.
