Journal: Week 17 2024

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii → NCL Spirit (Pacific Ocean)

Summary: A week of pure travel magic. From waking up in the Hilton Hawaiian Village to boarding the NCL Spirit, exploring Kauai, Maui and the Big Island, snorkelling with turtles, visiting Volcanoes National Park, and beginning the long sail across the Pacific towards Alaska.

Monday, 22nd April

I woke up in the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. A beautiful start to the week and the perfect beginning to my holiday.

Tuesday, 23rd April

This morning, I woke up in my cabin on the NCL Spirit. I went on an escorted tour to discover Kauai. It was my first proper day exploring the Hawaiian Islands, and the scenery was stunning.

Wednesday, 24th April

Today, I took an escorted tour of Waimea Canyon in Kauai. The views were spectacular, and it was easy to see why it is called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Thursday, 25th April

I woke up in Kahului, Maui. I went on a snorkelling excursion to look for turtles. The water was warm, clear and full of life. A brilliant experience.

Friday, 26th April

Today, the NCL Spirit docked in Hilo on the Big Island. I had an escorted tour of Volcanoes National Park. Seeing the volcanic landscape up close was incredible.

Saturday, 27th April

Today was the first of five days sailing across the Pacific Ocean towards Alaska. A full day at sea to relax and enjoy the ship.

Sunday, 28th April

Today was the second of five sea days as we continued sailing across the Pacific towards Alaska. Plenty of time to unwind and enjoy the journey.
