Summary: This week I travelled across Japan on my long‑awaited holiday, visiting Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Osaka, Himeji, Hiroshima and finally returning to Tokyo on the bullet train. It was a week filled with incredible sights, history, culture and some unforgettable moments.
Monday, 14th October
Today, I left Tokyo and travelled towards Kawaguchi, stopping to visit Mount Fuji on the way. Seeing Fuji up close was something I had dreamed of for years, and it did not disappoint.

Tuesday, 15th October
I left Kawaguchi this morning and travelled to Kyoto. Along the way, I visited Shirato Falls and the Toyota Car Plant Museum. It was a fascinating mix of nature and engineering.

Wednesday, 16th October
Today, I explored Kyoto and visited some of its most famous places, including the Imperial Palace, the Bamboo Forest and Fushimi Inari. Walking through the endless red torii gates was an unforgettable experience.

Thursday, 17th October
I left Kyoto and travelled to Osaka, where I visited the Buddhist temple of Horyuji. It is one of the oldest wooden buildings in the world and a beautiful place to explore.

Friday, 18th October
Today, I left Osaka and travelled to Okayama. On the way, I visited the magnificent Himeji Castle. It is one of the most stunning castles I have ever seen.

Saturday, 19th October
I left Okayama and travelled to Hiroshima. I visited the Peace Memorial Park, which was the main reason for my trip. It was a moving and emotional experience.

Sunday, 20th October
Today, I left Hiroshima and returned to Tokyo on Japan’s bullet train. The speed and comfort of the train were incredible, and it was a great way to end this part of my journey.
