Street Art Tour photos 2022.

These photos are all from my guided tour of Los Alcazares on 21st May in 2022. The tour was to see the places where new street art was being painted that weekend. I have added geotags to the images in this gallery so that you can go & see the finished artwork for yourself.

Art & flowers
Art & flowers

This was our first stop on the street art tour, although it is not a new piece of street art in Los Alcazares, I like this photo of the art & the flowers that adorn the adjacent wall.

This was our second stop on the street art tour. The artists here had already started to work on some new art that covers some old street art on the side of the sports hall in Los Alcazares. The artist here literally started to paint as we arrived.

Mermaid.
Mermaid.

This was an old piece of street art in Los Alcazares & rather than paint over it with a new piece of art, the artist chose to redo it & bring it back to life.

War
War

This new piece of art has been painted over what was a very weathered & barely visible piece of art in Los Alcazares. It depicts Mars, the god of war, looking down on the devastation his war has caused, whilst the smiling children begin to rebuild what he has destroyed. It was not designed with Ukraine in mind, but with all wars raging in the world, but it is very appropriate at this moment in time.

This photo shows one of several new pieces of street art, being painted by different artists, on some walls behind the La Encarnacion Hotel & restaurant in Los Alcazares.

Cubes
Cubes

This piece of street art was done by our tour guide in 2015. I hadn't really understood what he was trying to say with this artwork until he described to us what it was. It shows the different areas of yourself with the different colours. He also likened it to a cube. If you look at one side of a multi-coloured cube whilst someone else looks at the opposite side of the same cube, you will both see the same cube but you will both see different colours. Arguing what colour the cube is, is pointless, neither of you will be wrong & neither will be right but neither can see the other side of the cube or the argument without shifting your perspective.

There are two artists working here on two sides of this property in Los Alcazares.
