Fushimi Inari Photos
Fushimi Inari was every bit as impressive as I’d imagined, and far busier than I expected. The famous red torii tunnels weren’t quiet or peaceful at all; they were packed with people weaving their way up the mountain, stopping for photos, squeezing past each other, and trying to find a moment of space. It was chaotic, colourful, and full of energy.
Even with the crowds, there was something special about being there. The bright vermilion gates, the lanterns, the shrines tucked into corners, all of it still had that unmistakable atmosphere, just with a constant flow of people moving through it. I didn’t attempt the full climb, but I walked enough of the lower paths to get a feel for the place and capture the moments I could.
These photos show Fushimi Inari exactly as I experienced it: busy, lively, and unforgettable in its own way.
