Todaiji Temple Photos
Todaiji Temple wasanother stop on my tour, a place where the scale of the buildings and the sense of history hit you the moment you arrive. Home to the Great Buddha Hall, one of the largest wooden structures in the world, the temple feels both grand and deeply spiritual at the same time.
The grounds were busy, full of visitors and the famous Nara deer wandering freely between the paths, but even with the crowds there’s a calmness to the place. Walking through the gates and into the main hall, you can’t help but pause at the sheer size of the Buddha statue and the craftsmanship that has survived for centuries.
These photos capture the moments that stood out to me during the visit, the architecture, the atmosphere, the deer, and the sense of stepping into one of Japan’s most iconic and historically important sites.
