Day one of my trip to China began at my home in England & ended whilst I was still airborne on an aeroplane somewhere over China.
Travelling to China.
My holiday to China began early in the morning when my friend Tony picked me up from my home in Fareham. He took me to Gatwick airport to get an Air China flight to Beijing.
Luckily there were people already at the Air China check-in desk & I was able to check-in. I was soon in the 'Servisair' lounge where I met my travelling companions & tour rep for the holiday. Everyone seemed very nice & after a bacon roll, several danish pastries & some orange juice I then forced myself to have a couple of beers.
We all trotted round to the departure gate & boarded the plane in good time only to be delayed for some unknown reason for about 40 minutes. After taking off we were served lunch which was actually quite nice for airline food, a big thumbs up to Air China. After watching a couple of films & then figuring out why I only had two films on my screen, I managed to get all the other channels working & settled in for the overnight flight to Beijing.
