Location: Strait of Gibraltar, Mediterranean Sea.
Summary: A slow, quiet day on board with no entertainment, plenty of people‑watching, good company from familiar faces, and an early night set aside to witness the ship’s passage through the Strait of Gibraltar.
A Slow Start to the Day
Today was another day spent at sea as the ship travelled towards Morocco. I had breakfast and then settled into the Lord Nelson bar. Although the bar was closed, the chairs were comfortable, and it was a peaceful place to sit and write notes about my trip so far.
The day moved slowly, and once again, there was no entertainment for adults on the ship. I went to the coffee bar, where I enjoyed sitting and watching the other passengers. Throughout the day, I was joined at different times by Jose, Kaz, Jane, John, Adam, Brian, and Rob, all from Los Alcázares. Helen stopped by briefly as well, and with the steady flow of company, the hours passed more quickly as we sailed south toward the Strait of Gibraltar.
An Early Night & a Special View
I went to bed early tonight, but set my alarm so I could wake before we passed through the Strait of Gibraltar. I wanted to see Gibraltar, where my grandfather, Llewelyn Morris, had been stationed for a few years. As we approached, I tried to take a video, hoping to capture a small piece of that connection across time and place.
