I went to the Arizona, Senora Desert Museum as part of my Southern States tour with my Uncle Dave in 2012.
Arizona, Senora Desert Museum.
The Arizona Senora Desert Museum opened for the first time in 1952 & has since developed into the combination of a zoo, botanical garden, natural history museum & research institute.
After watching an interesting film about the museum I then visited the hummingbird exhibit & took a walk in the aviary. I spent a while trying to catch a photo of a hummingbird in flight but my camera skills were not good enough to capture a shot of the amazing birds that could do them any justice. I was amazed that they could hover & appear to fly backwards.
After visiting the aviary we walked around the cactus gardens & other sections of the desert museum. Unfortunately because of the heat, we did not see any desert animals, who were, unlike me hiding from the heat of the sun.
Then I went to visit the reptile, amphibian & invertebrate house before we had to leave to go back to the coach. If you are evr in the area I can highly recommend a visit here it is fascinating & I would love to go back at some time.
