The Elephant Nature Park is a unique project set in the Chiang Mai province in Northern Thailand. I have ridden an Elephant at San Diego Zoo but want to visit this park to see them in more natural surroundings.

It was established in the 1990s & its aim is to provide a sanctuary & to be a rescue centre for elephants. The park is located 60 km from the city & has provided a sanctuary for dozens of distressed elephants from all over Thailand. I have always loved elephants & would love to someday visit this park maybe as part of a larger tour of Thailand.

I have seen many elephants in zoos, nature reserves & circus shows all over the world & believe they all should be left to roam free. It is nice to see an elephant nature park like this set up to try to reverse some of the harm men have done to this wonderful animal over the years.
