When Thomas Higgs was born on October 9, 1892, in Wedmore, Somerset, England, his father, William, was 36 and his mother, Charlotte, was 31. He married Beatrice Alice Granfield in June 1917. They had five children in 14 years. He died in 1978 in Somerset, England, at the age of 86.
