Week 7 of 2024 was quiet, allowing me to do a lot of work on my website and finally start sorting out my thousands of photos into a filing system on my computer. It will help me find the photos I'm looking for.

Monday, 12th February.

I woke up around 7:30 am, got myself a coffee and sat at my computer to work on my website. I have some boots being delivered by Amazon today, so I won't be leaving home until they have been delivered. While looking at Facebook, I saw an advert for a company selling coffee capsules for my coffee machine. They had an offer on their coffees, and I saw they did a Ginseng coffee, which I liked drinking when I was on one of the cruises I went on last year. I ordered the coffee and then checked my messages.

I had a message from Google and was happy to see that the work I had done yesterday had been registered, and that the unnecessary listings for my website had been removed. It will make my job of getting unindexed pages indexed a lot easier going forward.

After I posted my blog from last week, I portioned off the soup I made yesterday and put it in the freezer. I sat working on my website and waited for my delivery from Amazon. My delivery from Amazon arrived at about 1:30 pm. When I opened the delivery, the boots were of excellent quality but were far too small. Buying shoes is a lottery as far as I am concerned. None of the makers footwear is the same size, and all makes seem to have their own version of the standard sizes. I completed the form to return them and will return the ones that arrived last week with them first thing tomorrow morning. I had a few rolls with grilled cheese and ham, with the last bit of yesterday's soup for lunch.

This afternoon and evening, I worked on my website. I worked until around 7 pm, when I had chicken and chips for my tea. After eating my tea, I continued working and went to bed around 10 pm.

Tuesday, 13th February.

When I woke up at 6:30 am, I got a coffee and checked my email messages. At 8:30 am, I went to the bank to check on my investments and also to check on a payment that wasn't made on my credit card. Everything was good and in case I have a problem with my credit card while I am on holiday, they issued me a second card for emergencies.

When I left the bank, I went to the doctor's surgery to get an appointment to see the doctor. I got an appointment to see him at 7 pm tonight and then returned to my apartment. I parked my disability scooter in the garage and put it on to charge for a while as I have to go out again later and want to make sure it has a reasonable charge before I go out.

At 11 am, I go to the Euronics store to send the two sets of boots back to Amazon. After they had been sent back, I went to Mercadona and dropped off a big bag of coffee pots to be recycled. After I dropped them off, I carried on to La Sombre Pizzeria to meet Martin. We sat chatting for about an hour and a half before I left to return to my apartment.

When I got home, I took a painkiller, lay on the sofa and fell asleep. I woke up several times during the afternoon but dropped off to sleep again fairly quickly. I woke up around 6 pm and waited till about 6:40 pm before going to the doctor. The receptionist checked me in quickly, and by 7 pm, I had seen a doctor and been given an antibiotic prescription. I saw a nurse who lanced my finger and squeezed the puss out of it. She found a splinter in the finger, washed the finger out, and then applied antibiotic cream to the finger. I have to get more antibiotic cream to use daily, and only if the finger hasn't healed in a week do I have to return.

When I got home, the pain in my finger made me feel sick. Instead of cooking the bit of steak I had ready for my tea, I rested for a while and took a painkiller. I must have fallen asleep for a while and woke up around 9 pm. I did some work on my website before turning the computer off and set the dishwasher timer to run at midnight when the cheaper electric period started. I then went to bed at 10:30 pm.

Wednesday, 14th February.

I woke at 7 am and went to the kitchen for my coffee. I checked the dishwasher, and whilst the machine had run, there seemed to be a white deposit in some of the dishes, so I set the machine to do a quick wash to hopefully clean everything properly. I sat down at my computer, checked for new messages, and began working on my website.

At 10 am, I went to the pharmacy to collect the prescription the doctor gave me last night. Once I had the tablets, I went straight home and started the course of antibiotics. I have to take an antibiotic tablet three times a day, wash and clean the wound on the finger and put antibiotic cream on it whenever I need it, for instance, after washing my hands.

The rest of the day was spent working on my computer. I edited many photos for my online photo albums, looked up details for the descriptions, and added these to my photo albums. After I had been doing this for a few hours, I took a break from the photo editing and did some administration on the blogs on the website. I finished working on my website at around 7 pm and cooked myself steak, egg, fried potatoes, and fried mushrooms for my tea.

In the evening, I transferred money between my bank accounts to pay for my upcoming cruise. I then spent the night watching TV and I went to bed just after 11 pm after taking my last antibiotic pill for the day.

Thursday, 15th February.

I woke at 7 am when my alarm went off to tell me to take my first antibiotic tablet of the day. After taking the tablet, I got myself a coffee and checked for messages on my computer. Half an hour later, I got another coffee and a supercharged bowl of porridge. I put assorted frozen berries, a banana, peanuts, walnuts, raisins, honey and Greek yoghurt in it.

After breakfast, I indexed some of my website pages and went to Buena Vist restaurant with my neighbour Liz for a coffee at about 10:30 am. We had our coffee and sat chatting in the sun until midday. When we left, I went to the Spice shop round the corner from my apartment to get a couple of potatoes.

When I got home, I did more work on my website until around 3 pm. I took a break, had a couple of crackers for lunch, took my second antibiotic tablet, and had a siesta. I started working on my website again, stopping at about 7 pm for my tea. I had the second half of the bit of steak I had yesterday, with some chips for my tea, and then continued working on my website till 11 pm when I had my final antibiotic pill for the day and turned my computer off. I watched an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and went to bed at midnight.

Friday, 16th February.

I woke up at 6 am this morning and got myself a coffee. Still half asleep, I sat down at my computer and checked my computer for any messages. I then spent the next thirty minutes determining what day it was. In my sleepy mind, I convinced myself it was Saturday and couldn't determine why my computer said it was Friday. I sat listening to Radio Two for a time check, but the Radio 2 presenter didn't say the day. As my coffee started to work, I realised that it was Friday and that it was me that was a day early, not the rest of the world a day late. My time travelling journey over with and finding myself back in the correct day, I got another coffee.

I have some new coffee being delivered today and hoped I didn't have to wait for it all day. I sat at my computer and began working on photos for my website. As I worked, I began to notice that many of my photos seemed to be duplicated. I think it had something to do with how my computer synchs with my online backup. I stopped the computer from doing automatic backups and checked my photos, it looked like I had thousands of duplicates. I bought a piece of software to help me find the duplicates and set it running on my computer.

During the morning, I had a message from the coffee delivery company saying my delivery would arrive between 3:15 pm and 4:15 pm. As I had time before it arrived, I took some recycling to the bins, getting rid of a bag of paper, cardboard, and plastic bags. While out, I popped into the Economycash store for a few groceries and then went home.

At home, I got myself a burger for my lunch. I like the thick, peppered burgers they do at the meat counter in Economycash; they are much nicer than the thin, tasteless ones I sometimes get. After I had eaten I looked at the software that had been detecting duplicated photos on my computer. It had found thousands, and I then spent hours picking which ones to keep and which to delete. The software will do this for you using your choices as a guide, but I prefer to check each manually until I get used to the software.

My coffee finally arrived at around 5:45 pm. Why the delivery driver bothered to message me to give me a time, I don't know; they never arrive early or on time.

I stopped working on duplicated photos around 11:30 pm and switched my computer off to watch the Graham Norton show on TV. He had some great guests today, including Rag´n´Bone Man singing his new song. I expect the song will grow on me, but it is not as good as his huge hit, Human. Once the show finished, I went to bed.

Saturday, 17th February.

I woke up late today, I had slept through my alarm at 7 am telling me to have my antibiotics. I got up and got myself a coffee. I tried one of the new Ginseng coffees. I loved the taste, but it was not strong enough for me to be able to get a double, double serving out of one capsule. It does make a very nice double measure and I think at around 28 cents for a double shot, it is good value for money. The Italian blend I had delivered at the same time is even better value at 22 cents a double shot.

Once I had woken up, I went online to the New York Times and did today's Wordle puzzle. I managed to do it, making it 21 days in a row I had managed it. I think these little puzzles and the coffee help me concentrate and wake me up properly in the morning.

Before I started work, I looked at trips I wanted to do on my cruise around Hawaii and Alaska in a couple of months. I studied the trips and booked six escorted trips. Three when I am in Hawaii and three when I am in Alaska.

I spent the rest of the day using several software packages to sort out thousands of my photos. I had many duplicates and began moving the photos into a filing system that I could search more efficiently. I stopped to watch the Burnley vs Arsenal football match on TV and was glad I did. Arsenal won 0-5, which should have been a much bigger score.

When the game finished, I continued sorting through my photos and didn't stop until about 1 am Sunday. Unable to keep my eyes open anymore, I went to bed.

Sunday, 18th February.

I woke up at about 8 am after my late night yesterday. I had a coffee, got some porridge and sat down to work on the photos on my computer again. My neighbour Liz messaged me to see if I wanted a coffee at about 10:30 am, and I took a break and walked to the Buena Vista restaurant to meet her. We talked and said hello to some other friends, Mick and his mum Sheila, before leaving and returning to our apartments at midday.

I continued working on my photos and finally stopped at about 4 pm to put my dinner in the oven. When the pork joint had cooked, I ate the crackling but wasn't hungry and left the pork to cool off to eat the following week instead.

I worked very late on the photos again. I finished work at about midnight and went to bed.
