Alan Morris and Lisa Biles in the Agafay desert, Marrakech, Morocco.

In Week 24 of 2024, I saw and did some amazing things in Marrakech before flying home to Los Alcazares.

Monday, 10th June.

Today was our third day in Marrakech. We had a fantastic day today, starting very early in the morning when we went for an air balloon ride over the Agafay desert

Tuesday, 11th June.

Today was another amazing day in Morocco. It was my favourite day. We went to the Agafay desert, went camel riding, quad bike riding, had dinner in the desert, and saw a show before going back to the Riad in Marrakech.

Wednesday, 12th June.

We had a relaxed morning at the Riad in Marrakech today before going to the airport to fly back to Spain.

Thursday, 13th June.

After a long, tiring day yesterday, I was surprised to wake up at 6:30 am. I got up straight away and got myself a coffee before sitting down at my computer. I checked my messages and went onto Amazon to order new things for my kitchen. The food I enjoyed in Marrakech gave me the push I needed to replace some of my old kitchenware with new stuff. I ordered a new Cast Aluminum Stone Pan and two collections of silicone spatulas. One order will arrive tomorrow the other will arrive on Sunday.

After making the orders, I began working on my website, adding a new section for the photograph albums from my time in Morocco and editing photos to go in them.

I had some chicken for dinner and then returned to work on my website. I stopped working around 9:00 pm, and after watching TV for a few hours, I went to bed at about midnight.

Friday, 14th June.

I woke up at around 7:30 am when the builders in the neighbouring building started to work. Once I had got up I got a coffee and checked for messages on my computer. I had an email from Morocco from a man that I had paid for some video and photographs of Lisa and me when we went up in the air balloon over the Agafay desert. He had completed editing the video and photos and sent me a link to download them. I downloaded everything, looked at them quickly and then filled in my tax return form to send to my accountant.

When the tax return form had been done, I went back to work on my photos, editing ones for the Riad we stayed in and setting up albums for the other places we went to and things we did.

The new pan I ordered from Amazon arrived, and after unwrapping it I was very pleased with it. I had some chicken and chips for a late lunch and continued working on my website. I stopped working on my website at around 8:30 pm to watch the opening game in this year's UEFA European Championship between Germany and Scotland.

I couldn't get interested in the game so I listened to the commentary and glanced up occasionally but spent most of the night looking for places to go on my next adventure or recipes to try out. I went to bed at around 11:30 pm.

Saturday, 15th June.

I woke up early this morning, got myself a coffee and did the Wordle puzzle before getting myself some porridge with dried fruit, blueberries and a scoop of protein powder.

I spent all morning working on photos for my website. The first ones I did were for the Jardin Majorelle photo album. This took some time as I didn't realise I had taken so many photos. I sorted through them all, edited the ones I wanted to put in the album, posted them to the album and then wrote descriptions on all of them.

At 2:30 pm, I walked to Buena Vista restaurant to meet my friends Kevin and Gaynor, who wanted to ask me for details on my trip to Marrakech. I met them for a drink, and we chatted for an hour or so. I told them about the Riad I stayed in and the area it was in. I told them about Marrakech and what to expect if they went there for a few days like I had.

When we finished chatting, I returned to my apartment and did more work on my computer. When the Spain vs Croatia football match started, I watched it. Spain easily won 3-0, and I can see them doing well in the tournament. Later on I watched the Italy vs Albania match. Albania took a 1-0 lead after only 23 seconds, the fastest goal in this competition's history. They couldn't hold on, though, and Italy won 2-1. I think Italy will have to improve a lot if they are to win the competition.

I went to bed as soon as the football matches had finished.

Sunday, 16th June.

I woke up around 7 am, stripped the linen from my bed and put it in the washing machine. I couldn't get a coffee or porridge because I forgot to get milk yesterday. I checked for messages on my computer, had a shower and then went to get some milk.

I went to use the Mercadona store, but it is not open on a Sunday so I went to Aldi. I got the few bits I needed and then went straight home. The storm overnight had cleared the air and it felt much cooler and clearer today. Once I got home, I put my shopping away and got some breakfast: porridge with dried fruit, blueberries and a scoop of protein powder. The powder does give it a nice flavour and hopefully will keep me full longer so I can start to lose some weight.

After breakfast, I put more washing in the machine and then finished typing my notes for my day exploring Marrakech on Sunday last week. I had a salad for my lunch at about 2:30 pm and then spent the afternoon watching football from the UEFA European Championship. I thought Poland was unlucky to lose to Holland. I fell asleep watching the Slovenia vs Denmark game. I watched the Serbia vs England game and thought England started the game very well and went into a deserved 0-1 lead. In the second half, England was nowhere near as good as they were in the first half and I think Serbia can be disappointed not to get a point.

As soon as the game finished, I went to bed and fell asleep very quickly.
