Today, I left Hiroshima and returned to Tokyo.
This morning, I woke up and went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. It was a buffet, and the food was good, but the room was huge, and there were around 800 seats. I was lucky because they had tables set out for the disabled, so I didn't have to wait long.
After breakfast, I went back to my hotel room, packed my case and checked out of the hotel. Unfortunately, I had to wait a few hours to be taken to the train station to catch the bullet train to Tokyo.
Another different guide arrived at the hotel, escorted us to the train station, and collected our tickets. She then escorted us to the correct platform and to the spot we had to wait at to enter the train. The trains here are very well organised, with places to enter each carriage while allowing people off the train first. Our train arrived spot on time and left spot on time as well.
The journey on the bullet train was terrific, travelling at over 400 km an hour. It was very smooth, and as the train cornered, it tilted over, but it was so smooth I didn't even realise how far we were tilted over till I looked out of the window and saw the tilt of the landscape outside the window.
The train covered the 800 km separating both cities in three 55 minutes. When we arrived in Tokyo at about 2:00 pm, our guide led me out of the train station, across the road, and into the hotel where I would be staying overnight before she left.
I had to wait a couple of hours before I could check in, so I walked to a 7-11 store to buy some food for the evening and had a look around the shops near the hotel. When I walked back to the hotel, I checked in and spent the evening resting my aching legs and watching stories about Donald Dump and the American election before going to sleep early.
