Week 7 of 2025 started in Jaipur and finished in Varanasi. Along the way, I visited Ranthambore, Agra and Lucknow. I went on a game drive, visited theย Abhaneri Stepwells the Taj Mahal and sailed along the river Ganges.
๐Monday 10th February.
Today, I travelled fromย Jaipur to ๐Ranthambore, which is considered the best game reserve in India. This evening, we went on a game drive through the National Park.
๐Tuesday 11th February.
Today, I went on an ๐early morning safari to experience the wildlife and managed to see a tiger. After lunch, I spent time on the hotel grounds resting my legs. On the tour guide's advice, I didn't see the fort at Ranthambore.

๐Wednesday, 12th February.
Today, I travelled to Agra. On the way, I visited the ๐Abhaneri Stepwellsย and then stopped for lunch at Umaid Lake Palace.

Today, I visited theย ๐Taj Mahalย in Agra.

๐Friday, 14th February.
Today,ย I travelled to ๐Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, which is known for its parks, gardens, monuments, and fascinating bazaars.
๐Saturday 15th February.
Today, I travelled to ๐Varanasi. Situated on the banks of the River Ganges, where Hindus bathe in the water to cleanse themselves of sin.
๐Sunday 16th February.
Today, I was up before the sun to sail along the Ganges and to see Hindus bathing and praying beneath the rising sun. In the afternoon, I visited the ruined city of Sarnath.
This week's exercise.
This is the exercise I managed this week. In an attempt to lose more weight before I go on holiday next year, I plan to increase my exercise, but I must be cautious because I often overexert myself and end up hurting my legs or causing my ankle to swell. Hopefully, recording my exercise like this willย motivate me to exercise more, but not to overexert myself too quickly. I have put swimming and cycling on the record sheet, but I don't expect to do much of either before the warmer weather returns.
Walking is measured by steps taken.
Swimming is measured by metres swam.
Cycling is measured by metres, and the bike is cycled with electric assistance.
