Today was our sixth day crossing the Atlantic Ocean on board the Costa Favolosa.
I woke around 7 am today, and after taking a shower, I made my way to the pool at the back of the ship. I got myself a coffee and sat there reading my Kindle until around 10:30 am when I walked to the Palatino Gran bar for the 11 am quiz. Gail and Mal joined me. We did very well and won an ice cream between us in the first quiz, and we were runners-up after a tie break in the second quiz.
For lunch today, I had carrot soup, a Plaice fish fillet in an almond butter sauce for my main course, and for dessert, I had almond Frangipane. After lunch, I took myself off to a coffee bar to read my Kindle. I had a little too much sun yesterday, and my back was a bit sore, so I wanted to stay out of the full sun for a day before arriving in Brazil tomorrow.
At 4 pm, I walked to the Palatino Grand bar to see if Gail was taking part in the dance lesson. I was surprised to see that Darrel had also joined in with the dance lesson. I ordered a cocktail from the waitress and settled down to read my Kindle. Dwight and Tessa soon joined me, and when the dance class had finished, Darrel and Gail joined us. We didn't win the quiz but came about halfway up the league, which I thought was quite good as we didn't start playing together until the third day of the quiz. We all laughed a lot, and Gail and I drank a few cocktails before we all went back to our cabins.
At 7 pm, I went for dinner in the restaurant where Mal, Ann, Rosa, Darrel, Dwight and Tessa joined me. For my starter, I had a crab cake followed by chicken soup. For my main course, I had Veal stew in beer with potatoes and steamed vegetables, and for dessert, I had an apple and pear pie with ice cream.
After dinner tonight the theatre had the final of ´The Voice´ singing competition. Having seen the quality of the singers previously and how poorly run they were, I didn't bother to go. I had a few drinks in the piano bar after dinner before moving to the quiet bar opposite to have a few more. I went to bed quite early tonight, at around midnight, as I wanted to be ready for my excursion in Recife tomorrow.
