These journals don’t start until week 18 because I hadn’t intended to do them this year, but because I got bored during COVID, I began to write them again.
The older we get, the more sad times we have, and I lost a few friends and members of my family when they passed away in 2022. To balance those sad times out, I had many great times. I went to some musical events and fiestas, and I went on my first-ever cruise.
I think in 2022, when I look back at it, there were more good times than bad times and I hope that my memory will dwell more on the happy times than the sad times.
Week 52 of 2022 started with me swimming in the Mar Menor with many other people in a Boxing Day swimming event.
The week running up to Christmas seemed to drag by and I felt quite lonely this year, despite spending every Christmas on my own, this year it seemed to affect me more.
My disability scooter got two new batteries this week and I got a heated gilet. I will be mobile again and be kept warm when Im on my scooter in the colder weather.
Most of this week was spent quietly at home, but I was led astray at the end of the week by my friends Stuart and Graham, who forced me to have one too many glasses of shandy.
This week was very quiet. It started at the Doctors, who prescribed me more tablets and some gel for my swollen and painful knees. At the end of the week, I went to see the Los Alcázares Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
This week was very quiet; I spent most of my time with my feet up watching the World Cup. But I did go out to see a show at Playa de Espejo outside my apartment. The girl playing with fire was very hot.
This week my leg gets more uncomfortable and I go to see a Doctor. He wants me to go back to see the nurse so she can check my legs for at least a month. He gives me tablets to help with my circulation and tells me I have to wear compression stockings. Apart from that it was a quiet week because I did as the Doctor told me and rested my legs.
This week I did a lot of resting to allow my aching leg to recover, and I did a lot of work editing videos and photos from my cruise last week to be added to my website and my YouTube channel.
The week started off in Rome, Italy before continuing on to Naples, Italy, Palma on Mallorca, back to Valencia, Spain and then onward to my home in Los Alcázares.
The start of this week dragged by as I waited for my holiday towards the end of the week. By the end of the week when I set off for my Mediterranean cruise I was getting really excited.
This week was a strange week. It included several visits to the Doctor, my disability scooter running out of power whilst I was out on it, confirmation of my cabin number for next week's cruise, singing at karaoke in a bar and watching my friend sing at a bar on another night.
This week started wet, but it turned lovely mid-week. I spent a lot of time cataloguing my genealogy records for my research, and using the Lightroom training I did last week to help me do this.
This week was a lot quieter than last week and a lot wetter. I did a lot of online training at home on Adobe Lightroom but did manage to get out to meet some friends I hadn't seen for a few years as well as see Arsenal beat Liverpool to go to the top of the Premier League again.
This week started wet and stormy but got a lot better. I went out for a meal on two different days, went to a wedding and wedding reception on a third day, had time to go to see a friend singing at a local bar on another day and to top it all off Arsenal beat Spurs 3-1.
This week, I spent time with my sister Karen and her other half, Brett. We went swimming each morning and sat feeding the fish as they swam around us in the Mar Menor. It was great to see each other again after not seeing each other for nearly four years.
This week begins quietly and finishes with a grin on my face as my sister comes to visit and Arsenal wins to go back to the top of the Premier League again.
This week began in Albacete before going back to Los Alcázares. I worked on my balcony garden and installed a solar-powered fountain. The big news this week is the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen is Dead; Long live the King.
This week begins slowly in Los Alcázares, I do some work on my balcony garden and at the end of the week, I take a trip to Albacete to see the group Texas.
This week was a fairly quiet week again. I didn't find out until the end of the week but another very nice man I know passed away this week, RIP Jim you will be missed but not forgotten.
This week was spent entirely in Los Alcázares, mainly working on my website but I did manage to read a lot, sing at karaoke, watch a lot of football and rejoiced when Arsenal went to the top of the League.
This week I went for lunch with my friends Frouk and Reinder and did a lot of work on my website, some of it twice. It was also the week one of my first schoolboy crushes died. RIP Olivia Newton-John.
This week the majority of my time was spent in or around my apartment. The heat this week was stifling and the humidity was very high. I did some swimming and enjoyed the start of the new Premier League Football season.
This week, I went out on my kayak on the Mar Menor for the first time since last summer. I went on a coach tour to a Bodega and did some wine tasting.
This week, I swam every morning until I got stung by a large barrel jellyfish right across my back and shoulder. I also took delivery of a new circulation machine that I hope will help my legs and maybe help with the cramps that I get after walking short distances.
This week I was able to do a lot of swimming, more than 7 km over the 6 days I went swimming. I also went on a trip to see the Algar Waterfalls in Alicante.
As the week started and I didn't have any real aches or cramps in my leg and I intended to swim every morning. I managed to do this every day except for one, over the week I swam a distance of over 5.2 km.
This week another friend passed away, it seems the older we get the more regularly we begin to lose friends. RIP John, you will be missed. I do a lot of work at the computer this week, a little swimming and enjoy a concert outside my apartment.
This week, I did a lot of swimming, bought some furniture, got some jobs done in my apartment, went for a curry with friends, got stung by jellyfish in the Mar Menor, and still found the time to see Madness in concert in Murcia and book a weekend away later in the year.
This week was a fairly quiet week and I didn't get any further than the bank in one direction and the office in the other direction.
This week I did some work in my kitchen, work in the office and a lot of work on my computer. As I worked so hard this week I then booked a Mediterranean Cruise for myself to go on later in the year.
This week starts off with me swimming in the Mar Menor and ends with me celebrating Wales's qualification to the World Cup Finals in Qatar.
This week I managed to start swimming more often, now that the weather is warming up I can get in the sea for my morning dip.
This week started slowly, but as I felt better, it meant a return to work to catch up with a pile of work that had built up in my absence.
This week begins in the Hotel Selu in Cordoba, Andalucia. I went for a short trip there to see the Patio Festival, where many households open up their homes' courtyards to visitors who can admire their fantastic flower displays.
I had not been doing my weekly update this year and had decided to continue it this week. It helps with my memory and gives me something to do when I have my morning coffee.
