Ketchikan, Alaska, as we approached onboard the NCL Spirit.
This Symplocarpus foetidus, commonly known as skunk cabbage, was growing along the path in Tongass National Forest. It is a low-growing plant that grows in wetlands and moist hill slopes of eastern North America. Bruised leaves present an odour reminiscent of skunk.
