I had visited the Cape Kennedy Space Centre in Florida many times, but this was my first trip to the Houston Space Centre. Although there is more to see at the Kennedy Space Centre, I preferred seeing the command centre in Houston.

The Houston Space Centre is the official visitor centre of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Centre and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's centre for human spaceflight activities.

My memory of this centre is when we went into Mission Control. The control centre is used daily and was busy the day we looked around, but we could ask some of the people there a few questions. I asked them what operating system they used for the computers, and they told me they used their proprietary system because Microsoft Windows crashed too much. I thought this was quite funny, and I just had pictures of the control system having to reboot as a shuttle launched or a rocket landed on the moon because a Windows update had to be done.
