These photos were all taken when I flew to the Mendenhall Glacier by helicopter and took a short look around the glacier. Click on any image to see a larger version and a description.

Alan Morris on the Mendenhall Glacier. At the left centre of the photo, where I have circled in blue, is a tour guide. This is where we walked up from when we got off the helicopter and walked back down to get back on the helicopter when it returned for us.
Alan Morris stood by the helicopter he took to the Mendenhall Glacier. As you can see, the step up into the helicopter was relatively high, and the door was quite tiny. What you can't see is that the door only opens out a small way. It was hard work getting in and out, but it was well worth the pain it caused.
