Cruises

These articles and blogs all relate to cruises I have been on or plan to go on.

  • Depart Valencia.

    Day 1 of my cruise around the Mediterranean started when I was picked up by a coach in Los Alcázares and driven to Valencia to board my ship, the Costa Toscana.

  • Depart Valencia.

    Today I boarded my cruise ship the Costa Diadema in Valencia for my cruise around the Mediterranean.

  • Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, Alaska.

    Today, the NCL Spirit sailed the Endicott Arm, allowing us to view the Dawes Glacier.

  • Exploring Cadiz.

    On day 4 of my holiday, the Costa Favolosa, docked at Cadiz, Spain & I went ashore for a prebooked tour.

  • Exploring Recife, Brazil.

    Today I woke up as we entered the port of Recife, Brazil. I went on a short coach tour to see Recife & Olinda & had my first taste of Brazil.

  • Genoa, Italy.

    Today, the ship arrived in Genoa, Italy, and I took an escorted tour of the city.

  • Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

    Today, I took an escorted tour of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

  • Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii.

    Today, I woke up in my hotel at Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. I was still a bit tired but felt better than last night.

  • Icy Strait Point, Alaska.

    Today, I booked a Whale Watching and Bear Search excursion while we were in Icy Strait Point, Alaska.

  • Ilheus, & the Tijuipe waterfalls, Brazil.

    Today I woke up in the port at Ilheus, Brazil & went on an escorted coach tour to see Ilheus, & the Tijuipe waterfalls. Unlike yesterday's tour in Salvador, this was a brilliant day.

  • Journey to Madrid.

    I was up early today to go to Torre Pacheco to catch a train to Madrid for an overnight stay.

  • Juneau, Alaska.

    Today, I went on a Helicopter ride to the Mendenhall Glacier, where the helicopter landed, and l got out to look around the glacier.

  • Kauai, Hawaii.

    Today, I went on an escorted tour of Kauai, including a drive through Kauai to the Wailua River. I cruised the river and stopped to see the Fern Grotto before continuing to Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge. 

  • Ketchikan, Alaska.

    When the NCL Spirit docked in Ketchikan, Alaska, I took an escorted tour of the Tongass National Forest.

  • Los Alcazares to Alicante.

    Today, I travelled from Los Alcazares to Alicante for an overnight stay.

  • Los Alcazares to Valencia.

    I went to Valencia by train from Balsicas the day before my cruise departed.

  • Madrid to Los Alcazares.

    Today, I made the final part of my journey from Madrid to Los Alcazares.

  • Madrid to Los Alcazares.

    I arrived back in Madrid, Spain today & then made my way back to Los Alcazares.

  • Madrid, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Honolulu.

    Today was a long day spent flying from Madrid to Honolulu via Amsterdam and Los Angeles.

  • Madrid, Spain.

    My flight from Vancouver arrived back in Madrid today.
