Escorted Tours

These articles and blogs all relate to an escorted tour I have been on or plan to go on.

  • Monument Valley

I flew over Monument Valley when I took a sightseeing flight on a De Havilland Canada aeroplane as part of my holiday in 2011. The people I was going with boarded the small aircraft for the flight in which everyone had a window seat.

  • Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.

Today, I will visit Mount Fuji and stay overnight in Kawaguchi.

  • Mount Rushmore

The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills in Keystone, South Dakota.

  • Nagoya and Kyoto.

Today, I will leave Kawaguchi and visit Nagoya on the way to Kyoto.

  • Nazca to Arequipa.

Today, we set off early for a long drive down to Arequipa. We passed back through the sun-baked, arid desert plateau we crossed yesterday.

  • New Orleans

I toured New Orleans on various sightseeing trips, including a coach tour, a Segway tour, and just walking around with my Uncle Dave.

  • New York

When I booked my Southern States trip, I added an extra few days to the tour to spend a few days looking around New York before flying home.

  • Okayama to Hiroshima.

Today, I will leave Okayama and travel to Hiroshima.

  • Ollantaytambo, Sacred Valley.

After a good breakfast buffet this morning at our hotel in Cusco, we set off for a tour of the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

  • Osaka to Okayama.

Today, I will leave Osaka and journey to Okayama.

  • San Diego Zoo

We didn't spend much time at San Diego Zoo, and for that, I was grateful. At the time of our visit, the zoo was looking very old and in my opinion, needed closing down.

  • San Francisco.

I added a stopover in San Francisco, California, to my Monuments & Parks tour in 2011 and went there after visiting Las Vegas.

  • Savannah

We stayed in Savannah for two nights. After we took a guided tour of Savannah in an electric tram, I went on a Segway tour of the Historic District and walked around the River Street area.

  • Shanghai to Yichang.

Today, we travelled all day; we went by coach, plane, train, coach again & eventually arrived in Yichang to board our cruise ship to go up the Yangtze River.

  • Shennong Stream.

I woke up early this morning. I took a shower and then went for a cup of tea at the Yangtze Club. I had a cup of black tea and watched a few people who had come to join the ship doctor for a session of Tai Chi.

  • Sillustani.

Today, after a breakfast buffet & lots of Coca Tea, I joined the coach, ready for the journey to Lake Titicaca. We retraced our route out of the Canyon, passing strange-looking moss that can live for 500 years & when touched, it feels more like a rock than moss.

  • Tatanka, Story of the Bison.

The Tatanka Story of the Bison Visitor Centre had a few things to look around on my visit. There were native Indians on hand to tell you their history & give more information about the story of the bison.

  • Terracotta Warriors.

Today, we saw The Terracotta Warriors, & the Small Wild Goose Pagoda.

  • The Alamo

I thought The Alamo was a fantastic place and would have liked to have spent more time there.

  • The Journey Home.

We eventually arrived in Beijing and then got held up waiting for our shuttle from the internal terminal to the international terminal at the airport. By the time we got to our gate, the flight was already boarding, and it was not long before we were airborne and on our way home.
