  • Houston Space Center

    I had visited the Cape Kennedy Space Center in Florida many times, but this was my first trip to the Houston Space Center. Although there is more to see at the Kennedy Space Center, I preferred seeing the command centre in Houston.

  • Hulk Hogan, wrestler and actor.

    In the early nineteen nineties, I stayed at my home in Orlando and decided to go to Clearwater Beach for a weekend. I met Hulk Hogan in his bar there.

  • Icy Strait Point, Alaska.

    Today, I booked a Whale Watching and Bear Search excursion while we were in Icy Strait Point, Alaska.

  • Jekyll Island

    Jekyll Island was beautiful, and if I ever win the lottery, I may buy a home there. The homes are all built on large plots of land and have beautiful, lush green surroundings. The beach was beautiful, and I enjoyed watching the deer playing in the dunes as I went for a sunrise

  • Jim Quillen, Alcatraz Inmate and author.

    I met Jim Quillen on a tour of Alcatraz in San Francisco in about 1992. I had gone on one of the self-guided tours where you are given a headset with a narrated talk of the island and can do the tour at your speed.

  • Juneau, Alaska.

    Today, I went on a Helicopter ride to the Mendenhall Glacier, where the helicopter landed, and l got out to look around the glacier.

  • Kauai, Hawaii.

    Today, I went on an escorted tour of Kauai, including a drive through Kauai to the Wailua River. I cruised the river and stopped to see the Fern Grotto before continuing to Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge. 

  • Ketchikan, Alaska.

    When the NCL Spirit docked in Ketchikan, Alaska, I took an escorted tour of the Tongass National Forest.

  • Las Vegas

    While staying in Las Vegas, Nevada, I stayed at the  Flamingo Hotel. I had been to Las Vegas a few times previously and have seen most of the tourist sites and stayed in lots of different hotels.

  • Los Angeles

    I took my Uncle Dave with me to America in 2012. This would be his first visit to most of the places we would visit. The tour started with a few nights at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.

  • Madrid, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Honolulu.

    Today was a long day spent flying from Madrid to Honolulu via Amsterdam and Los Angeles.

  • Maui, Hawaii.

    Today, I went on a catamaran to Molokini Crater to go snorkelling, hoping to see lots of fish and some turtles.

  • Mickey Spillane, author.

    While living in Florida, I met Mickey Spillane in a downtown restaurant in Orlando.

  • Mission San Juan Capistrano

    I went to Mission San Juan Capistrano with my mum and dad as a teenager, and I loved the gardens and the bells on the walls. 

  • Mission San Xavier del Bac

    I did enjoy walking around the San Xavier del Bac Mission and its grounds, it was very interesting. 

  • Mississippi and Tennessee

    We had already crossed and stayed overnight in Mississippi on our way to New Orleans, and we travelled across the Magnolia State again on our way to Memphis in Tennessee.

  • Monument Valley

    I flew over Monument Valley when I took a sightseeing flight on a De Havilland Canada aeroplane as part of my holiday in 2011. The people I was going with boarded the small aircraft for the flight in which everyone had a window seat.

  • Mount Rushmore

    The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills in Keystone, South Dakota.

  • New Orleans

    I toured New Orleans on various sightseeing trips, including a coach tour, a Segway tour, and just walking around with my Uncle Dave.

  • New York

    When I booked my Southern States trip, I added an extra few days to the tour to spend a few days looking around New York before flying home.
