Today, I left New Delhi to travel to Amritsar.

Golden Temple.

The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib, is a stunning and spiritually significant gurdwara located in Amritsar, Punjab. It is a holy site for followers of Sikhism.

The foundation of the Golden Temple was laid in 1581 by Guru Arjan, the fifth Sikh Guru. It was completed in 1604 with the installation of the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism. The temple has been rebuilt several times due to destruction by invaders. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh Empire, rebuilt it in marble and copper in 1809 and overlaid the sanctum with gold leaf in 1830.

The temple complex includes a langar, or community kitchen, that serves free meals to all visitors, regardless of their background or religion.

I visited the Golden Temple tonight to see one of the ceremonies held here.

 Radisson Blu Amritsar.

The hotel for my stay in Amritsar tonight was the Radisson Blu Amritsar.
