Journal

These blog entries are my journals detailing my everyday life. I make these because I have a poor memory, and these help me to look back at things I have done and the people I have spent time with.

  • Week 28 journal.

I started Week 28 of 2024 with a meal at Thai Aroi and had my first swim in the Mar Menor this year.

  • Week 28 journal.

This week included lots of time trying to stay cool in the extreme heat that warnings were given about. I did a bit of swimming and spent time looking at the jellyfish.

  • Week 28.

This week I was able to do a lot of swimming, more than 7 km over the 6 days I went swimming. I also went on a trip to see the Algar Waterfalls in Alicante.

  • Week 29 journal.

In Week 29 of 2024, I spent most of the week working on my website but I did catch up with an old friend on Saturday and had a great time chatting over Brunch.

  • Week 29 journal.

This week I did a lot of swimming. I went to Murcia to see Rod Stewart in concert and met my friend Gail there. I went to San Pedro del Pinatar with my friends Kathy and Tony to see the Arsenal U21s play Villareal B in a friendly football match.

  • Week 29.

This week I swam every morning until I got stung by a large barrel jellyfish right across my back & shoulder. I also took delivery of a new circulation machine that I hope will help my legs & maybe help with the cramps that I get after walking short distances.

  • Week 3 journal.

At the start of this week, I went to the office to work on Monday, but I stayed home most of the week apart from going there. My cold has been getting better, but I woke up in a lot of pain on Sunday.

  • Week 3 journal.

This week was a quiet week. Lots of my time was spent fighting off the cold I have, but I got out on Friday and had a few beers at a local bar.

  • Week 30 journal.

In Week 30 of 2024, I suffered from bad back pain and was popping lots of painkillers, but I did get to see Tom Jones in concert in Murcia, which was brilliant.

  • Week 30 journal.

This week started with me panicking, worrying that my apartment block would be demolished. I went to an 80th birthday party/meal. I stayed up all night to watch an Arsenal game live from California and did lots of swimming.

  • Week 30.

This week I went out on my kayak on the Mar Menor for the first time since last summer. I went on a coach tour to a Bodega & did some wine tasting. Oh yes, the England Lionesses won the European Championship.

  • Week 31 journal.

In Week 31 of 2024, I spent a lot of time working on my website. The highlight of the week was getting physiotherapy on my bad knee.

  • Week 31 journal.

I seemed to spend the first part of this week waiting for deliveries or people coming to my apartment for some reason, and at the end of the week, I travelled to Murcia to see one of my favourite groups, Simply Red, in concert.

  • Week 31.

This week the majority of my time was spent in or around my apartment. The heat this week was stifling & the humidity was very high. I did some swimming & enjoyed the start of the new Premier League Football season.

  • Week 32 journal.

In Week 32 of 2024, I thought my physiotherapy had stopped until my insurance company told me the clinic wondered where I was as they had booked me a course of ten sessions, not the two I thought I had. I worked at home a lot, went swimming and met a friend for dinner on Sunday.

  • Week 32 journal.

This week was a quiet one for me. I read a lot, worked on my family tree, saw a few friends and went out for dinner on Sunday.

  • Week 32.

This week I went for lunch with my friends Frouk & Reinder & did a lot of work on my website, some of it twice. It was also the week one of my first schoolboy crushes died. RIP Olivia Newton-John.

  • Week 33 journal.

In Week 33 of 2024, I spent most of the week at home but went to the Jumilla wine festival with my friend Lisa and had lunch with my friend Debbie on Sunday. I bought some new software for my computer and watched the start of the new football season.

  • Week 33 journal.

This week was spent mainly in Los Alcazares, but I did quite a lot. I made some videos, including my first attempt at underwater filming with my mobile phone. I ate out with friends, met other friends for a drink and watched a parade in Los Alcazares.

  • Week 33.

This week was spent entirely in Los Alcázares, mainly working on my website but I did manage to read a lot, sing at karaoke, watch a lot of football & rejoice when Arsenal went to the top of the League.
