At the start of the year in 2018, whilst taking part in a local quiz at La Zona mini-golf some of my friends asked me if I would like to go & see the Aguilas Carnival in February.

Today I woke up in the port of Marseille in France, ready to go on a trip to Aix de Provence.

The second state that we went through on our 1980 American road trip was Alabama but we didn't stop there, we drove through Alabama to Mississippi for an overnight stop & on to the fourth State we would go through, Louisiana on the I10.

Last week my friend Diane was telling me about a trip she planned on going on, to see the Algar Waterfalls. By the time we parted company, she had convinced me it would be a good day out and booked an extra place for me.

Today, the ship arrived back at Alicante.

In 2004 my friend Martin was 40 years old and for his birthday he decided he wanted to go to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Originally, six of us should have been going, but this soon became 3, with his friends dropping out because of pressure from wives and girlfriends.

On our drive across America, we travelled through Arizona. A beautiful state that at the time I probably didn't appreciate as much as I would now if I were to do this trip again.

We arrived in Beijing at about 6:50 am & getting through immigration was easy. This was a huge but very well-run airport. 

Today, I will arrive in Tokyo on my flight from Paris, France.

Today we sailed south on the Costa Favolosa towards Rio de Janeiro.

Today the Costa Favolosa sailed across the Atlantic towards Tenerife.

I woke up at around 6 am today. I took my tablets and went back to sleep till around 9:30 am when I got up and went for breakfast.

Today we sailed south on the Mediterranean towards Cadiz.

Today I woke up at sea, sailing across the Mediterranean.

Today the MSC Lirica would sail the Mediterranean towards Genoa in Italy.

Today was another day spent at sea while the ship travelled towards Morocco.

We toured around the swamp in the Atchafalaya Basin on a small boat made for about 2 dozen people. We saw hundreds of alligators our tour guide threw food to, getting them to come closer for our photos.

I went to Atlanta, Georgia as part of my Southern States tour in 2012. As well as looking at many of the large homes in Atlanta, we also visited the CNN Centre and the Martin Luther King Memorial Visitor Centre.

Today we set off early to take a boat trip out to the Ballestas Islands, a protected area that is home to Humboldt Penguins, Peruvian Pelicans, Peruvian Booby, Neotropic Cormorants, Inca Terns & Sea Lions.

This was not where I expected to be waking up in Barcelona. My leg was giving me a lot of pain now, and they were treating it for an insect bite after last night's Doppler scan showed no thrombosis, and the x-ray showed no breaks.
