Europe

These articles and blogs all have a connection to Europe.

  • Aguilas Carnival

At the start of the year in 2018, whilst taking part in a local quiz at La Zona mini-golf some of my friends asked me if I would like to go & see the Aguilas Carnival in February.

  • Aix de Provence, France.

Today I woke up in the port of Marseille in France, ready to go on a trip to Aix de Provence.

  • Algar Waterfalls

Last week my friend Diane was telling me about a trip she planned on going on, to see the Algar Waterfalls. By the time we parted company, she had convinced me it would be a good day out and booked an extra place for me.

  • Alicante & home.

Today, the ship arrived back at Alicante.

  • Amsterdam weekend.

In 2004 my friend Martin was 40 years old and for his birthday he decided he wanted to go to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Originally, six of us should have been going, but this soon became 3, with his friends dropping out because of pressure from wives and girlfriends.

  • Barbara Windsor, actress.

I must have been about 16 or 17 years old when I met Barbara Windsor very briefly outside a bank in Portsmouth, England.

  • Barcelona Hospital.

This was not where I expected to be waking up in Barcelona. My leg was giving me a lot of pain now, and they were treating it for an insect bite after last night's Doppler scan showed no thrombosis, and the x-ray showed no breaks.

  • Barcelona, Spain.

Today, the MSC Lirica docked at Barcelona.

  • Board the Costa Favolosa.

Today I wake up in Barcelona at the hostel Benidorm before making my way to the port & boarding the Costa Favolosa for my cruise to Brazil.

  • Bob Dylan in Alicante.

I like Bob Dylan's music & when I saw he was appearing in Alicante I decided to get a ticket & go to see him in concert. I may not ever get the chance again to see this poet, musician & songwriter.

  • Bodega Tour

I saw this trip advertised on Facebook, and as I have decided to try doing many more day trips I booked this one up. It included the coach trip, breakfast, a tour of the Bodega, a four-course meal with wine, and then a visit to the village of Alcala del Jucar.

  • Boxing Day Swim 2022.

While browsing Facebook in November 2022 I saw an advert from the Los Alcazares town hall advertising a lunchtime swim that they were organising on Boxing Day 2022. I thought it looked like fun and decided to give it a go.

  • Brazil to Spain.

Today was my last day in Brazil & I left Rio de Janeiro to fly back to Madrid Spain.

  • Ceuta, Spain.

Today, the ship arrived in Ceuta, an autonomous Spanish city in North Africa.

  • Charlie George, footballer.

My good friend Derek Almond took me to the Emirates Stadium to do a celebrity-guided tour in 2014. Our tour guide was Charlie George, an Arsenal legend.

  • Chris Eubank, boxer.

I met Chris Eubank in Brighton when I was there for a friend's stag party.

  • Christmas 2013

I got up this morning to discover I can't remember where the Christmas cards I had for my family had been secreted away. I bought them earlier in the year and put them away where prying eyes & little hands couldn't find them. The trouble is my normally perfect memory can't

  • Civita de Bagnoregio, Italy.

Today I woke up in the port of Civitavecchia in Italy. I had a trip that I had been looking forward to today but it was nearly too much for me.

  • Cordoba Patio Festival.

I saw pictures of the Cordoba Patio Festival and decided to go and see it in 2022. I like Cordoba, having been there before for the Flamenco Festival 2016.

  • Dad's Ghost Message

My dad, Brian Llewelyn Morris, died in Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Hampshire, England, in February 2005. He had been admitted to the hospital on my birthday in January of the same year.
